Been too busy.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">When you were younger, I'm sure you have encounter the time you need to write an essay related to your hobby. Kids normally would have the 'generic' kind of hobby like drawing, collecting stamps (anyone still does that now?), etc. As you grow older, you realised, due to various reasons, you may not have a hobby. Life just goes on routinely.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">As for me, being away from family for work, I found myself a new hobby! I am an optometrist, and things I love to do during my free time doesn't have anything to do with my work, although the result might still be 'eye-related'.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Since young, I'm into arts (not that kind of Victorian art or Monalisa-kind-of-thing), but more of modern art. I like to draw or illustrate, and I love craft! And I love colours! There was a time, a kid at work told me about this and I bought a starter kit, and now I am attached! I am into beads that if you're creative enough, you can literally make it into anything!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgdDZ9FDCKFqPn_cB2EwyxnroHJwrOokP01f6uAZu-eqBjaQ3iIP9pjQx37tWsAw7NhPNlMC95servJI0_Csoo2b6NW-5DEC09LYXe_tqSXJKCmnWx8ds-pR7gghf8PqmuToklxjB9eTKK/s1600/IMG_9879.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgdDZ9FDCKFqPn_cB2EwyxnroHJwrOokP01f6uAZu-eqBjaQ3iIP9pjQx37tWsAw7NhPNlMC95servJI0_Csoo2b6NW-5DEC09LYXe_tqSXJKCmnWx8ds-pR7gghf8PqmuToklxjB9eTKK/s320/IMG_9879.JPG" width="320" /></span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Look at the choices of colours! I have more colours and shared some completed art pieces with my close friends. </span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSOCUicFY4AbieTsWBqjf_phnN93_XL6s_E-6sokZVhXEMVJYwuUlWnDZGIxbJhWp6k6zVCdoysiNGCyuDnrRSVraCvikvD2S9UGfFjP6Z4CZgPGRrPaHmD5kqLXcmyx1dzz6Bq6mrcNRS/s1600/IMG_9924.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSOCUicFY4AbieTsWBqjf_phnN93_XL6s_E-6sokZVhXEMVJYwuUlWnDZGIxbJhWp6k6zVCdoysiNGCyuDnrRSVraCvikvD2S9UGfFjP6Z4CZgPGRrPaHmD5kqLXcmyx1dzz6Bq6mrcNRS/s320/IMG_9924.JPG" width="320" /></a></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Starting from scratch, I made it into an ornament like above photo. I was inspired by the Queen's Diamond Jubilee so I made this Union Jack which can be used as a decorative, collectibles or a keyring if you wish to! The process of making it is fun and on some occasion, I can make 2-3 art pieces a night! I made it all out of leisure, and hence it's a hobby!!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I made myself a few necklaces and even a name tag for my desk at work, too!! I can't wait to share more of my art pieces with you!! </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Till then, x.o.x.o</span></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15583623851803044337noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7464432338327965628.post-42202294205131063442012-05-11T15:19:00.000+01:002012-05-11T15:25:49.515+01:00Famously British<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">There's always a time, when you have a sudden crave of certain food. It could be something you have not eaten for a long time, or something you really love!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Still remember the time when I was still in UK, Malaysian food, typically Nasi Lemak reminds me of home. I often drop by at a Malaysian Restaurant, Rumours, on Bath Street, Glasgow, just to have some authentic food from home. Nasi Lemak is a kind of luxury food in Glasgow. To read my previous review, click<a href="http://uniquelyanna.blogspot.com/2008/05/taste-of-malaysian-in-glasgow.html"> here</a> or<a href="http://uniquelyanna.blogspot.com/2009/10/taste-of-malaysian-in-glasgow-2nd.html"> here</a>. I'm now in Singapore, and of course, I still miss food from Kuching. </span></div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Like I said, crave just comes of all sudden. Towards the end of April, there's this moment when I really want to eat Fish and Chips so, so badly! What's worst is that it was the time when I was about to sleep. During my university life, I can eat nice and fresh fish, chips and peas in my uni's refrectory for just </span><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; line-height: 16px;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">£2.80! They do not use any fish but haddock! Mmmm... yum!!! In UK, you rarely get an awful fish & chips, even those from chippy shops are nice!! </span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; line-height: 16px;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; line-height: 16px;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">When I returned to Asia, I feel reluctant to eat Fish & Chips as bad experience told me it's no as fresh and as nice as any store in UK. Often, they would use cheaper fish, with very thin slice of flesh plus thick batter! Fish and chips originates from the Isle of British back during the time of first world war. It's famously known and available worldwide! Famously and proudly British!</span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; line-height: 16px;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></span><br />
<span style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 16px;">I googled 'Singapore best fish and chips' (yes, Google is everyone's best friend), and the search engine suggested me a few fish and chips store and mostly are food chain. Until I read a person's blog plus I saw the <a href="http://www.smithsfishandchips.com/">website</a>, I know the owner of <a href="http://www.smithsfishandchips.com/">Smiths Authentic Fish & Chips</a> is half Irish and Scottish, and grew up in Liverpool. I was so excited and decided to give it a try! I do not want to go to the usual food chain. </span></span><br />
<span style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 16px;"><br /></span></span><br />
<span style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 16px;">During Labour Day, May 1st, I, myself took the MRT to Paya Lebar and take a short bus ride to this place in Tanjong Katong. Luckily it's near me so I do not have to go too far for the long await food! </span></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEid9g4fKFCasnMBeaMLNqhoibyZ9ZjSUHGznqeXlIZpN3H7QIOANHek4orFUUj3diZZJ76Ow30j0lpkzbh7Rh13hI-yZ5PukAjWzA4qy-7ZQKRG3__QeuVh6j-A8Ip1cw7G4yzR_AVt9may/s1600/IMG_9822.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEid9g4fKFCasnMBeaMLNqhoibyZ9ZjSUHGznqeXlIZpN3H7QIOANHek4orFUUj3diZZJ76Ow30j0lpkzbh7Rh13hI-yZ5PukAjWzA4qy-7ZQKRG3__QeuVh6j-A8Ip1cw7G4yzR_AVt9may/s320/IMG_9822.JPG" width="320" /></span></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">This is it! After you get off from the bus stop as suggested by Google Map, it's just a short walk away!! I got so excited when I approach the store!</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHuOCzvO5oUNKm81yNP9lsyGbKWyt-iNxSOjGbOyokqTABdeKN7oPsKQmoQ9KSjwRZJqmjU_ZMXU5KOHNtcVH59rXTV6kvUSvKXMJdBmqjA6iFBz87ZNOW489xMvb0Hk7mFmhy0mX2eeaX/s1600/IMG_9824.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHuOCzvO5oUNKm81yNP9lsyGbKWyt-iNxSOjGbOyokqTABdeKN7oPsKQmoQ9KSjwRZJqmjU_ZMXU5KOHNtcVH59rXTV6kvUSvKXMJdBmqjA6iFBz87ZNOW489xMvb0Hk7mFmhy0mX2eeaX/s320/IMG_9824.JPG" width="320" /></a></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Entering the store, with the smell of the usual chippy shop, I feel overly enthusiastic! I just feel like a summer day in UK!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmjOBaeXkHORgU8IndJFw_ebhA56gl0tWeL3PxrTMyUYY01NcJoTxpP1LKTf-nWpdNc59axKdyHXl_V5-cgAZ3iT64t8H1ZWQ6bJcNzZTN_0AG0WuTZptdyE2GADxggjAx9C3K6bfIYNbk/s1600/IMG_9828.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmjOBaeXkHORgU8IndJFw_ebhA56gl0tWeL3PxrTMyUYY01NcJoTxpP1LKTf-nWpdNc59axKdyHXl_V5-cgAZ3iT64t8H1ZWQ6bJcNzZTN_0AG0WuTZptdyE2GADxggjAx9C3K6bfIYNbk/s320/IMG_9828.JPG" width="320" /></a></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">There it is! I ordered the legendary Fish (Haddock) & Chips! And also mushy peas! The wrap your food with paper, trying to be as authentic as possible because the Brits wrap fish & chips with newspaper on the outer later for insulation and absorb grease!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The first cut of the fish, makes me nearly tears! It's exactly like what I had back in UK!! And the chips is nice too!! Don't expect the usual fries you get from McDonalds because British chips are meant to be softer and fried with actual potatoes, not the frozen fries! </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The thickness, freshness, and size of fish is just right, and worth every penny (well, in this case, worth every dollar). The battered is just the perfect thickness and done it well! And of course, you have to eat fish & chips with salt and vinegar! That's the authentic way of eating. Not by adding tomato sauce or others! </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The mushy peas, yum, love it!!!!!!</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhg0LtDMDp-9UtJYgGocGKH-AcSjhzVZ5FlC9hTAcq7BX7vf7Hk9QMZ38e-Tze9Gh0-u_pbmsQHgMIZwvLpYh1yVK_eltYWGERupVPMsd9pANdiKiYDpRfJGuJp1IlqwlEzwqQqa6vcUcG8/s1600/IMG_9832.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhg0LtDMDp-9UtJYgGocGKH-AcSjhzVZ5FlC9hTAcq7BX7vf7Hk9QMZ38e-Tze9Gh0-u_pbmsQHgMIZwvLpYh1yVK_eltYWGERupVPMsd9pANdiKiYDpRfJGuJp1IlqwlEzwqQqa6vcUcG8/s320/IMG_9832.JPG" width="320" /></a></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">From the picture, what do you think it is? Banana fritters? Fish fingers? Oh, no no.. It's wrong!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The famous chocolate bar that everyone should know, Mars Bars, is hidden in the batter! Yes, it is the well-known-from-Scotland FRIED MARS BARS!! When I first heard of it, I was like, 'What?! Fried Mars Bars? That's just odd!" And I didn't get a chance to try it when I was in Scotland. Scottish eats pretty unhealthy food, including fried pizza! No offence. </span></div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSnFzxelIDqaEWsF_-IQ6zUp7RGd0PkWZ19dZSdLT80xiHxC-B83ykOP66yM6ETgTaLgOkjhqlDEyp8dxFGyBNOdMT4Uk-mBhlbnn2hsQfGj-bhgBlAnPQrhALJhKKDfWd9hJxToCAU2V1/s1600/IMG_9840.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSnFzxelIDqaEWsF_-IQ6zUp7RGd0PkWZ19dZSdLT80xiHxC-B83ykOP66yM6ETgTaLgOkjhqlDEyp8dxFGyBNOdMT4Uk-mBhlbnn2hsQfGj-bhgBlAnPQrhALJhKKDfWd9hJxToCAU2V1/s320/IMG_9840.JPG" width="320" /></a></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">This is it!!! The taste is so good that I can't describe it with words. The fusion of hot batter expect it to be eaten with something salty, instead, it's sweet in the inside for its Mars Bars!! I must admit it is sweet but I can tolerate sweetness as I occasionally eat brownie for breakfast! This fried Mars Bars is good to share as dessert with your friend(s). In fact, it's May tomorrow!!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I've been wanting to update my blog since a long time ago but time doesn't permit. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">For the past month, I have been really busy with work, including a sick leave. And of course, not to forget I was home during Easter period, for a refresh and recharged holiday. Kuching has never been better!! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Being an optometrist is my dream when I was younger. I have never regret walking on this path, and the uni I graduated with planted me with a strong root to begin with! Of course, there's up and down at work, it'd definitely be a lie if I said there's only the ups! It depends on how you deal with your downs, and your busy work life. I must say, I have an optimistic mind that I rarely take things too seriously when it comes to the down side. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">At work, I deal with patients from 2 years old to above 80 years old. A mixture of patients daily is something really interesting, compared to those office-based work when you just see the same group of colleagues daily, with repetitive routine. I, personally enjoys and feels happier when it comes to kids. Checking kids vision may be challenging, as some would co-operate with you when some don't. It is the joy when you listen to how kids think, what they say and their super-imagination! The question they ask is interesting too!!</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Nevertheless, no matter what job/study you're in, you just have to find a way to enjoy it. Life's too short to be unhappy!!!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">So I'd like to end my this blogpost with the latest Rihanna single, Where Have You Been. <span style="background-color: white; line-height: 18px; text-align: left;">It is one of my favourite song from her Talk That Talk album. And I must say, I kinda like the tribal feel of this video, and is a little different from her usual eccentric-self. Enjoy!</span></span><br />

We, all the girls, care what do we wear everyday, and it reflect how we feel as well!<br /><br />My favourite season of all would be<span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(0, 153, 0);"> Spring/Summer</span>! As it goes with my personality, I like something that is bright and seems to be happy! You will spot me around with colourful nail polishes, bright coloured shoes, yellow dress and so on. Of course, I do not wear all the brights together and will make me looked insane. Haha!!<br /><br />I always try to brighten up my daily outfit with at least something with colour, not all black/grey/white. I'm sharing this little blog post (might not be that 'little' afterall) dedicated to part of <span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(0, 153, 0);">Spring/Summer 2012</span> fashion focus.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(255, 102, 0);font-size:130%;" >Spring/Summer 2012.</span><br />As usual, when it comes to better weather, with more sun and spring flowers, you would link it to floral prints, brighter colours like pink, yellow, grass green, purple and yellow, etc! I love brights that's why Spring/Summer is always my favourite!<br /><br />This season, there's lots of yellows in SS12 runway, especially <a href="http://www.mulberry.com">Mulberry</a>! Colour blocks! Colour blocks this year is slightly different from SS11 as there are much more pastel colours. Love 'em! This post is specially dedicated to my favourite colour, <span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(255, 204, 0);">yellow</span>!!<br /><br />Here are some of my favourite picks in-line with SS12!<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3_X9QsTiBc0O5WN_LAu2Rnug76aNKlpY6FMJkn6Sk7j36mSkr_5xKLb0NeECFHYSc7TfQ-5eAZoI_jQtGXhV9FXmCmjCEEArFCb7d4wt_zRQjiEPFerATTgLM6vwnyIvOMSJuJyyKz965/s1600/HH1109_708P127_4.jpg"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3_X9QsTiBc0O5WN_LAu2Rnug76aNKlpY6FMJkn6Sk7j36mSkr_5xKLb0NeECFHYSc7TfQ-5eAZoI_jQtGXhV9FXmCmjCEEArFCb7d4wt_zRQjiEPFerATTgLM6vwnyIvOMSJuJyyKz965/s400/HH1109_708P127_4.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5721223603237466082" border="0" /></a><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvyjFaGNS0-C8KOQWq6XmJ0Xgok5EV45dcYRMGsska_ocMD6PEdq90QXs_UT9OhWaE2T2BPY_59gtctQthWd9OlOsu4fpzEF0Dy4cuQrNJ2a4krdanH0dsMQ6NTcZe1RQe7wgqPsZe3kfB/s1600/HH1109_708P127.jpg"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvyjFaGNS0-C8KOQWq6XmJ0Xgok5EV45dcYRMGsska_ocMD6PEdq90QXs_UT9OhWaE2T2BPY_59gtctQthWd9OlOsu4fpzEF0Dy4cuQrNJ2a4krdanH0dsMQ6NTcZe1RQe7wgqPsZe3kfB/s400/HH1109_708P127.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5721223599226406482" border="0" /></a><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Mulberry Holiday Bayswater in Lemon Sherbet Spongy Patent, £895<br /></div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhepr32LwxepizMwnUuH46z4sl8MoMuTJkH_LuvaxfdOcNGdEpvDKHFHwLkG8H5XEjCpBTG2Sz0bhQTdLNft1kaYEVWpeV5ZG5QAkyyw2BzR5pNWHmTVkyC-EyXI0QLbYlcydZ6VkYKZn19/s1600/HH1110_708P127_4.jpg"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhepr32LwxepizMwnUuH46z4sl8MoMuTJkH_LuvaxfdOcNGdEpvDKHFHwLkG8H5XEjCpBTG2Sz0bhQTdLNft1kaYEVWpeV5ZG5QAkyyw2BzR5pNWHmTVkyC-EyXI0QLbYlcydZ6VkYKZn19/s400/HH1110_708P127_4.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5721223796586674018" border="0" /></a><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicxBRXtIqasmFGUfc9AbAi6BLGCT5psbyAvP0CzAPiwWlE9jocOmNLnaxPp91QAA9h_aZ7Om_NXoN8-wEBNOgQTrZfnimhr20gP0F9WY9dfyI2KDX74l42spv-lLlfo5S0TJkKKz5VeD9B/s1600/HH1110_708P127.jpg"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicxBRXtIqasmFGUfc9AbAi6BLGCT5psbyAvP0CzAPiwWlE9jocOmNLnaxPp91QAA9h_aZ7Om_NXoN8-wEBNOgQTrZfnimhr20gP0F9WY9dfyI2KDX74l42spv-lLlfo5S0TJkKKz5VeD9B/s400/HH1110_708P127.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5721223610725332162" border="0" /></a><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-weight: bold;">Mulberry Holiday Small Bayswater Satchel in Lemon Sherbet Spongy Patent, £795 (S$1960)</span><br /></div><br />I've been <span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(51, 51, 255);">eyeing</span> on this bag when I saw it during Mulberry's SS12 Runway Show! It's a sling bag, and I just love it!! It's so expensive here in Singapore!! Trust me, I was so tempted to buy it and what more to say I love Mulberry and Yellow is my name!! The sales assisstant at Mulberry was so friendly, allowing me to have a touch on it and once I tried it on, it was like 'OMG!'. I adapted to the British life quickly and I started to love anything local. They ranges from tea, scone, sandwich, pizza, pasta, etc. If you ever been to UK, you will realised all the tea time mini bites or desserts are very sweet. Their brownie or cupcakes are the best but they are also very sweet as if you will have ants crawling over you. (FYI, you would not see even shadow of ants in UK, probably because of the cold weather).<br /><br />There's a reason for all the sweetness of desserts! The well-known English Afternoon Tea often comes with a two or three-tier cake tray and tea! Yes, tea! Tea is commonly consumed without addition of sugar or milk, and will balance out the sweetness of all the bite size desserts!<br /><br />Ever since, I started to enjoy tea, more than I used to in Malaysia. I started with English Breakfast, Darjeeling and Black Tea. I enjoy having tea with a cake, as a way to relax myself. Occasionally, I will read a book with tea. My favourite tea of all is Earl Grey. It has a special fragrant and when you dirnk it, it's very light and drinkable!!<br /><br />Back to Singapore.<br />Last Sunday, after church service, I do not have plans, so I decided to go to Marina Bay Sands Shoppe to have a look at some store. I was hungry and I've decided to have my brunch at <a href="http://www.twgtea.com/">TWG</a> Tea Salon. I've ordered Eggs Benedict with Salmon, side with salad. The pouched eggs are delicious with the way they cooked it. I ordered my brunch with TWG specialty blended tea, 1897 Black Tea, with the fruity smell, tasted with smooth with less bitterness. I like it. Overall, I'd rate is as 7.5 out of 10! I enjoyed reading my book after meal with cup of tea, and the feeling is just so relaxing and stress-free. It's a posh life but a healthy one!<br /><br />Till then! x.o.x.o<br /><br />TWG is one of the oldest Singaporean tea company, selling a wide variety of tea,Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15583623851803044337noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7464432338327965628.post-40418058601253514582012-02-29T14:45:00.005+00:002012-02-29T15:36:04.695+00:00Leap Year<span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(0, 102, 0);">29th February 2012</span>, is a special day, a Leap Year Day. 29th of February only comes once in 4 years. It's a special day to remember, but not to mention for those working, you're unfortunately need to work an extra day in 4 years.<br /><br />In Irish folk tradition, a woman is allowed to proposed to her man on Leap Day and the man is not allowed to reject the proposal. He will be subjected to a fine if he rejects. On the contrary, in Scotland, it used to be unlucky for someone to be born on a Leap Day, just like Friday 13th. Nevertheless, it's just a folktale and depends if you are in it to believe or not.<br /><br />So, on this February 29th, I wanted to do something 'special' but couldn't come out with a plan. I stayed at home, watching the infamous romcom, 'Leap Year', by Amy Adams and Matthew Goode. I've seen it in 2010 but in relation to this day, I watched it again.<br /><br />The movie begins with America but settles in Ireland thereafter. I've been to Republic of Ireland during summer of 2010, with my BFF Stella. We visited Dublin and Wicklow. The movie started with the girl, Anna Brady would like to propose to her then boyfriend because he did not pop question. Coincidencely, he was in Ireland for a medical conference so she decided to fly actross the ocean to proposed to him in Ireland. Obstacles came along during her trip and then she met Declan, an Irish man. .... Long story short, they were married in the end.<br /><br />Below are some shots from the movie and also in comparison with the movie scene I've been to in Ireland.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhugM-n4vmOlnQswUJ_Xw6s343KEXoQ2IaxTBQjTvdg7wBEO5dboFqDKa9QzrVDapb2x4guzfx4izPPFmqPa_P9sx4Dx_o46hqnhySQJxoleXEApWso_ZYJ5_CCKNtQBnXhqSsvprsP-3Ia/s1600/leap+year+wicklow.jpg"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 163px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhugM-n4vmOlnQswUJ_Xw6s343KEXoQ2IaxTBQjTvdg7wBEO5dboFqDKa9QzrVDapb2x4guzfx4izPPFmqPa_P9sx4Dx_o46hqnhySQJxoleXEApWso_ZYJ5_CCKNtQBnXhqSsvprsP-3Ia/s400/leap+year+wicklow.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5714569436650991986" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyUBOd4XmCOposNwlEfhHvEjdD4DuLuxGg_uxNGqFq0eWCItAI8Z5aPTUo_eXyBrJK4zFrla_TpLDy9Y3yzTUHX0JT2_L1cwFSvoMvoi3TRor7IiSx2QO1RRMhpPfphr44O9isje71Arpn/s1600/IMG_1509.JPG"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 276px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyUBOd4XmCOposNwlEfhHvEjdD4DuLuxGg_uxNGqFq0eWCItAI8Z5aPTUo_eXyBrJK4zFrla_TpLDy9Y3yzTUHX0JT2_L1cwFSvoMvoi3TRor7IiSx2QO1RRMhpPfphr44O9isje71Arpn/s400/IMG_1509.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5714571645745937746" border="0" /></a><br /></div><br />Parts of the film was shot in Wicklow, Ireland, and believe me, the scenery is magnificient!<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8IDnkbtf8zV-OMM9ZledPhGR1nNi7TUhPjNrV0fBDc2yo81ZfgK3JJa5QM2sVpnNGAypOgGZCIGtm1UAy0yrBqzV20wumlHxByihtDvHV2EzZqjCgQBCrfBNGJZ5_T8Wgm2zTjZjmfBrC/s1600/leap+year+wicklow3.png"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 163px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8IDnkbtf8zV-OMM9ZledPhGR1nNi7TUhPjNrV0fBDc2yo81ZfgK3JJa5QM2sVpnNGAypOgGZCIGtm1UAy0yrBqzV20wumlHxByihtDvHV2EzZqjCgQBCrfBNGJZ5_T8Wgm2zTjZjmfBrC/s400/leap+year+wicklow3.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5714578121039694146" border="0" /></a><br /></div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXjk17wC4DBJm77t-DR1CdNMdkvVxbqN5nlfnKLf_nmyEVuj5QCCNG9hg6G1c9DEXz_w_0C5NjeXviAeE_dh6SfhXX4rDDM1WFawbz4s7GdNlTE9-lpsNOtR-xZjGYAguywJ1inkeQZoGx/s1600/IMG_1564.JPG"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 276px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXjk17wC4DBJm77t-DR1CdNMdkvVxbqN5nlfnKLf_nmyEVuj5QCCNG9hg6G1c9DEXz_w_0C5NjeXviAeE_dh6SfhXX4rDDM1WFawbz4s7GdNlTE9-lpsNOtR-xZjGYAguywJ1inkeQZoGx/s400/IMG_1564.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5714571651549122866" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjl-tL8ApVuG2wu46W8IzR_LwDzXCI91oJ0EDfl5KSc7NwfXXPk2Ry5Nmhy1KK_ubZBhLgyjDdBJiojCiBFiQ9CNZ7qUFQeGECFNg3LhcAUxGy8Z7vmdyYZHT_zLChZ5UiTatOHr12He77G/s1600/IMG_1571.JPG"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 276px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjl-tL8ApVuG2wu46W8IzR_LwDzXCI91oJ0EDfl5KSc7NwfXXPk2Ry5Nmhy1KK_ubZBhLgyjDdBJiojCiBFiQ9CNZ7qUFQeGECFNg3LhcAUxGy8Z7vmdyYZHT_zLChZ5UiTatOHr12He77G/s400/IMG_1571.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5714571655590181634" border="0" /></a><br /></div><br />They were both taken in Wicklow, near the Upper Lake area. From ghost stories, to witch stories, to romance, and all other sorts. When I get attached to one, I hardly get my hands off the book, even when I'm eating. However when other things kick in like Internet etc, the hobby seems to fade out.<br /><br />My book reading habit came back briefly in 2009, when I made a resolution to make Tuesdays my<span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(51, 51, 255);"> Reading Day</span> (read my previous blog <a href="http://uniquelyanna.blogspot.com/2009/02/new-resolution.html">here</a> & <a href="http://uniquelyanna.blogspot.com/2009/03/shopping-addict.html">here</a>). A good thing about reading a book is, you <span style="font-style: italic; color: rgb(0, 153, 0);">let the author brings you to an imaginary world of your own, and you design your own story picture</span>. That's something I truly enjoy when reading a book.<br /><br />The last book I love was <span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(255, 102, 0);">ONE DAY </span><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">by</span><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(255, 102, 0);"> David Nicholls</span>, and I'd say the book is so much better than the movie, and I must say it took me a while to finish the book, from Glasgow, to Malaysia, to Singapore! It was a good book to read with somewhat sad ending if you love romance. Read the book, not the movie!<br /><br />Recently, I thought I tried not to stay in front of a computer for a long time as I may have been starring at the screen for 5 hours at work. I picked up a few books from the bookstore, trying to kill my time much more productively and healthily. And, my friend, Stella, recommended me this book, called<span style="color: rgb(102, 102, 102);font-size:130%;" ><span style="font-weight: bold;"> <span style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0);">'The Hunger Games'</span></span></span><span style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0);"> </span>by <span style="font-weight: bold;">Suzanne Collins</span>, said it's a good book to read. Without hesitation and without any clue of what it's about, I decided to buy the book.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqbD0RwdV75k6rdWTDN4YsiE5w_MyIqhO_ryy28a5knbXVTK294nphb5rErK0_TYIeWUJ5NYN4mZ9-1L80lSv-BIvmNkXrtNkv1qQZ3A-iLwzX-cSbUNUS-SKuCLwX7bxhfnetp7ByXzyd/s1600/IMG_0421.JPG"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 339px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqbD0RwdV75k6rdWTDN4YsiE5w_MyIqhO_ryy28a5knbXVTK294nphb5rErK0_TYIeWUJ5NYN4mZ9-1L80lSv-BIvmNkXrtNkv1qQZ3A-iLwzX-cSbUNUS-SKuCLwX7bxhfnetp7ByXzyd/s400/IMG_0421.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5713443549917083714" border="0" /></a><br /></div><br />It took me just<span style="font-style: italic; color: rgb(153, 51, 0);"> over a week </span>to finish this book. I even read it during my lunch break at work. Yes, it just makes you read and want to read more about it.<br /><br />It is a book, about a group of 12 teenage boys and 12 teenage girl from 12 different districts in a futuristic world. They were randomly chosen to join the reality TV show,<span style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0); font-weight: bold;"> 'The Hunger Games'</span>. Their task is simple; the last one who survived the game is the victor. This means they need survival skills and have to kill each other to win the game, which will win them a life of wealth for them and their family.<br /><br />The main character of the story, <span style="font-weight: bold;">Katniss Everdeen</span>, volunteered to join the game on behalf of her younger sister. And the story begins on how she survived with some twist of romance between her and another participant, Peeta, and her long time bestie, Gale, who she used to hunt together. I'd not elaborate more in here and I'd highly recommend you to read the book.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5sRTsN6VWlt4gxf2eYDc8_b-EcpBH_0n3OZwlc3LfUbpFnU28kxocA_K0li9z02mcsX43mWyoKmNJbGTg1T9yEiPcI_C-ajHu2bi580Z97Meq420EA9wgsQeo606pYBiSuYtT1ESQ8D44/s1600/IMG_0416.JPG"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 339px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5sRTsN6VWlt4gxf2eYDc8_b-EcpBH_0n3OZwlc3LfUbpFnU28kxocA_K0li9z02mcsX43mWyoKmNJbGTg1T9yEiPcI_C-ajHu2bi580Z97Meq420EA9wgsQeo606pYBiSuYtT1ESQ8D44/s400/IMG_0416.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5713443548989150866" border="0" /></a><br /></div><br />The author gives you sudden suspense when you think of a predictable outcome. And it is very readable! I give it a score of 4.5/5.0!!! Love!<br /><br />FYI, there will be a movie made based on the book coming out in mid March. I did not watch the trailer until I've finished with the book! I just don't want any section of the trailer, including the look of the character be influenced my any part of the trailer. Nevertheless, I can't wait to watch the film!<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/OgssLmsOa2s?fs=1" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="270" width="480"></iframe><br /></div><br />The Hunger Games is a trilogy by Suzanne Collins, so to continue with the story of Katniss after the Game, I bought the second book of the trilogy, <span style="color: rgb(255, 102, 0);font-size:130%;" ><span style="font-weight: bold;">'Catching Fire'</span></span>.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEir133qmMk9MA9c7JyU7QrNlwwbRdyiPuoeMasRjGST-qxmhbBGI8JsgzI4_5CvgYrfNo9yiDvWOPbz_GV7NjLZplaNoYI9UOME1XWNHehLJyzBoRG8YyYagrXI34CbqHKXYywLHNnMZv6E/s1600/IMG_0435.JPG"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 339px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEir133qmMk9MA9c7JyU7QrNlwwbRdyiPuoeMasRjGST-qxmhbBGI8JsgzI4_5CvgYrfNo9yiDvWOPbz_GV7NjLZplaNoYI9UOME1XWNHehLJyzBoRG8YyYagrXI34CbqHKXYywLHNnMZv6E/s400/IMG_0435.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5713443559682474514" border="0" /></a><br /></div><br />Can't wait to finish the book!!! That only applies to people who know me later in my life as I may look like a person who love to read, quiet and anti-social. It all started out me being an active girl in primary school who happened to be a runner (sprinter) but cannot do long jump. I can't do long runs actually, but I can do short quick runs. Fast forward to secondary school, I was in the netball team. And, also being actively involved in extra-curriculum activities, especially St John Ambulance.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Fast forward again. </span><br />Last Sunday, my A-Level college clan, the A-B-C who are now working in Singapore, went for a wee outing to cycle in East Coast Park, here in Singapore. It sounds like a long stretch beach but the sandy area is only a few steps walk from the shore to the sea. Singapore is a petite island that I remembered a tourist guide once said, "when God created the earth, he finished it with a fullstop. And, the fullstop is now known as Singapore". Yes, Singapore is really THAT tiny.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNZp6KLFTUHoXiSSOPvD_eWZ3Y7jOz58vUOixxjDqvG847z2mVKnNInyI-Z1bx-fPZvGwn-8w-PBDEj3xNPEIDeCMzWL4j2WlFAklvEscv5oF5FLHOZeHZE_xAtvTH8DC1eoWCjckefdYE/s1600/IMG_9087.JPG"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 276px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNZp6KLFTUHoXiSSOPvD_eWZ3Y7jOz58vUOixxjDqvG847z2mVKnNInyI-Z1bx-fPZvGwn-8w-PBDEj3xNPEIDeCMzWL4j2WlFAklvEscv5oF5FLHOZeHZE_xAtvTH8DC1eoWCjckefdYE/s400/IMG_9087.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5709015978478198466" border="0" /></a><br /></div><br />I'm staying near east coast so it's convenient for me to go there. It took B and C about an hour to reach the east side as they stay in the west. As B said, there's a time zone difference of about 10minutes! Haha!!<br /><br />The weather that day was really sunny, that I had to put on sunscreen lotion before I head. The sky was blue and when we go there, the sea breeze was just relaxing. As usual, Singapore being a high population density country, East Coast Park was filled with people, although the picture above doesn't show that much.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmQvY4iRuhOgyR8ockDJ3bpjmrV2fhuabIpuN4zFckTb-LVUszHucAIpuzzxG5p5G7dP0WMzkQsmhvS-oq-SHuIdNiKO1ANab2hL7IXErwc2jqAQElxFSLd3FArucM4qaHPzgBIqN2XbCc/s1600/IMG_9110.JPG"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 276px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmQvY4iRuhOgyR8ockDJ3bpjmrV2fhuabIpuN4zFckTb-LVUszHucAIpuzzxG5p5G7dP0WMzkQsmhvS-oq-SHuIdNiKO1ANab2hL7IXErwc2jqAQElxFSLd3FArucM4qaHPzgBIqN2XbCc/s400/IMG_9110.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5709015990109917218" border="0" /></a><br /></div><br />Sitting on top of a rocky hill off the shore, we were trying to enjoy the scene, seabreeze, and the sun. As you may have already noticed, there's no such thing as 'no boundaries' of seaview in Singapore. You will definitely see some boat laying outreach of you but within your view. I have not cycle for a long time, and believe me the last time was in 2008 when me and my bestie in class went to Millport for a day trip (more details to come).<br /><br />We cycled for more than 1.5 hours, we enjoy some scene, joke each other, competing with speed, and even bump into each other's bike! We ended up riding 'Skyline', my 'Honda', and a 'kancil-turned-into-pimp-my-ride-Fairlady'!! Of course some bypassers would have Ferrari for its speed! I will not forget about it, and hopefully, I will continue to cycle in Singapore (as Scotland is not so possible now).<br /></div></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15583623851803044337noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7464432338327965628.post-40561961170055566962011-12-30T13:48:00.000+00:002011-12-30T13:54:54.572+00:002011I've been really busy lately, not just with work but also having fun! (That's why I do not blog that much)<br /><br />It's towards the very end of 2011, which has been amazing, with me staying in different side of the globe on the first half and the last half of my life! Two cities of which are so far apart from each other. <br /><br />2011 is also a turning point of my life, that I transformed from a student, graduated and now a working profession. And, I am officially an optometrist! <br /><br />A lot of things has happened and changed in 2011, and I look forward to a fantabulous 2012! <br /><br /><br />xoxoAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15583623851803044337noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7464432338327965628.post-24237124266070882532011-11-20T04:45:00.009+00:002011-11-20T08:53:42.058+00:00Precious 50 hours in Kuching<span style="font-size:180%;"><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(51, 102, 255);">11/11/11</span></span> was a special day, which will only occur in another thousand year. Us and our form teacher Mdm Chua decided on a reunion on 11th November 2011 (11-11-11). When time comes, we still remember, at least some of us. My cousin, who used to be my classmates for six years, organised this reunion. We started of with a little bit of shyness, people just talk to people next to them, sticking to their own seats. Girls talked to the girls, and guys to the guys. I must admit, as some of the people came in, I have to quietly ask the person next to me, <span style="font-style: italic; color: rgb(0, 153, 0);">'what's his name, again? I remember his face but I couldn't remember his name.'</span>, in return I also get <span style="font-style: italic; color: rgb(0, 153, 0);">'Erm, I don't know, too!'</span>. Sooner, I heard people calling his name and all the flasback returns! After dinner, people walked about, and keep chatting and chatting, trying to catch up what's missing in the past 12 years. It was filled with laughter that none of us even bother to sing Karaoke as we thought catching up with one another is a lot more important!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">If you notice, there's actually a baby boy in the picture. He kept mention that how can I be possibly shorter than him, all night! Anyway, I accept the fact that I've not grow any taller since secondary school, but guys are meant to me taller right?<br /><br />Our form teacher, Mdm Chua, also brought along 'The Book' where we wrote our wishes to her before graduate from primary school. She remembered mine clearly as I put a photo for her, haha, super 'kiasu'! I never remember I did it until I saw it. It's easier for me to adapt to the cold, than to the heat. There's always a concept that when it's too cold, you can layer up; but when it's too hot, what can you do?<div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCO23CbFB44OTwlPDXHN3b_h9AoPFna52aIRVihHmGj3cdEz0X2_HK-HHc-eQseu2DfyWTiEHsOrgppHRrj4L_qesyeAerbvztVeUZXx6VYC0dentv2Kc1Zi3ILtWN_MJh6SgIJan-xZUr/s1600/IMG_1301.JPG" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 270px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCO23CbFB44OTwlPDXHN3b_h9AoPFna52aIRVihHmGj3cdEz0X2_HK-HHc-eQseu2DfyWTiEHsOrgppHRrj4L_qesyeAerbvztVeUZXx6VYC0dentv2Kc1Zi3ILtWN_MJh6SgIJan-xZUr/s400/IMG_1301.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5658903978510289442" /></a></div><div>This was me just before I depart from a four-season country, UK - Glasgow. What's lovely about being in a seasonal country is that you can update your wardrobe by season, not annually. It's pretty amazing to look through the process, as you layer up during colder months, and you layer down when the weather gets warmer. It's a good thing for ladies as you can do more shopping! :P</div><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtMZKeSDVB1HIwJ97eQjo8_RNT0g6AU9bGiPK6XgaxUBGxMtnYsV_d2puV5gw2uYl59DUhzc0IIeozoFp8PFdUPuyC74aq5bh3z4rvsQtBT_ptuo6eYZHxB5hVw4VUJ_ghXSbcFFcRdMor/s400/IMG_6229.JPG" style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 302px;" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5658903981264065442" /></div></div><div style="text-align: left;">And here I am, working in a temperate country, with summer all year round. Well, to be exact, it's not summer after all as it's constantly hot and humid. In four-season country, summer will be moody as there are days when it rains and it gets chilly. Also, you will experience different sunrise and sunset time in summer than in winter months. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Still, I'm not used to the hot and humid weather in Singapore even though I'm born and raised in Malaysia with the same weather. Glasgow has obviously changed my perspective of weather.</div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15583623851803044337noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7464432338327965628.post-17903330947205590852011-09-29T15:18:00.004+01:002011-09-30T12:56:24.657+01:00Motivated!Read my real-life story to know why am I so motivated!<br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiu5Twhh_RGQ03pIOnhyphenhyphenJMS08gcoyrjxKb7lX9tITgRIO_Z82wRSRN2j0Z-tVkG1V5ij8uzLPl0wkPTV1wkaf-QBFFiQ_uR09m1NBUkcqgoqXYSB3MayqFaFpZNVpjDzRjzD_xm_56fc6O-/s1600/7295_eyeball_mascot_cartoon_character_with_welcoming_open_arms.jpg"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 181px; height: 174px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiu5Twhh_RGQ03pIOnhyphenhyphenJMS08gcoyrjxKb7lX9tITgRIO_Z82wRSRN2j0Z-tVkG1V5ij8uzLPl0wkPTV1wkaf-QBFFiQ_uR09m1NBUkcqgoqXYSB3MayqFaFpZNVpjDzRjzD_xm_56fc6O-/s400/7295_eyeball_mascot_cartoon_character_with_welcoming_open_arms.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5657788492920019618" border="0" /></a><br /></div>Today, a patient came in complaining of 'overlapping vision'. This is the first time I heard of someone describing vision as this. I was sure this patient will be interesting when he said he got it one day when he woke up. I was anticipated to check his eyes in detail.<br /><br />Initially I thought what he means by 'overlapping vision' could be a case of serious astigmatism (散光). I came across a lot of people saying they see double but actually it is just blurred.<br /><br />I carried on with my investigation and found out that he has lateral rectus palsy. Lateral Rectus is one of the muscle inside the eye causing one of his eye unable to look to one side, causing his double vision.<br /><br />As it is a sudden onset and he is in his 40's so I referred him to the hospital for further evaluation of the nervous system. I reassured him of the treatment options and if there's nothing they can do at hospital level, I will need to prescribe him with prism glasses.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://s7d2.scene7.com/is/image/Fathead/eye_muscles_medium_prod?layer=comp&wid=444&hei=444&fmt=jpeg&qlt=95,1&op_sharpen=1&resMode=bicub&op_usm=0.5,0.2,0,0&iccEmbed=0&bgc=0xdedede&bgColor=0xdedede"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 177px; height: 177px;" src="http://s7d2.scene7.com/is/image/Fathead/eye_muscles_medium_prod?layer=comp&wid=444&hei=444&fmt=jpeg&qlt=95,1&op_sharpen=1&resMode=bicub&op_usm=0.5,0.2,0,0&iccEmbed=0&bgc=0xdedede&bgColor=0xdedede" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><div style="text-align: left;"><br />For your information, each of our eyeball is surrounded by six muscles, and each has different function. Trust me, this topic is one of the toughest in uni. All six muscles are differently controlled by third, fourth and sixth cranial nerve, connected to the brain. Commonly lateral rectus palsy is caused by birth trauma as it is controlled by the sixth nerve, located near the side of our head. It's palsy causes esotropia, in-turned of the eye. Eye muscles of both eyes must be balanced in order to see 3-D vision, no double vision, and good depth perception. If you need more information about muscles of the eye, drop me an email. If you have real life story, share with me!<br /><br />..........<br /><br />In routine optometric practice, the most problems and symptoms are easily solved by giving a pair of glasses. When there's challenging cases like my patient today, it really boost my passion and anticipation. Solving a complicated eye condition is just the same as the joy of solving a difficult mathematics question!<br /><br />I declare that I have never regret to start on this route as an optometrist. Once I started university in Glasgow, I have never look back since. Call me an eye freak! Haha!<br /><br />The health of your eyes is my main concern.<br /><br /><br />Till then! xoxo<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.infobarrel.com/media/image/51676.jpg"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 411px; height: 292px;" src="http://www.infobarrel.com/media/image/51676.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(255, 0, 0);">Update (30/9/2011): </span><span style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0);">The hospital informed us that my patient has now being referred to another department for further test, as now it's not his eye problem. I'm going to miss travelling very dearly. Nonetheless, I have plans ahead for me to achieve so that life would not be too boring!<br /><br />Stay tuned for more updates! At the same time, you lost some friend. Friendship is a thing that you need to put effort, not just one side but both parties.
<br />
<br />Anyway, it's such a small world that I'm in Miri, working as an intern to promote my university in Glasgow, and the colleague here turned out to be a girl who went to the same college as me when I did my A-levels. I answered questions by students, also by colleagues. I think I'm doing a pretty good job telling people about Glasgow. I'm just sharing the truth and I really like Glasgow as a place to live in.
<br />
<br />With this internship opportunity, I do not just share about Glasgow but also about making friends. Glad that my classmates in Glasgow are uber nice that we still keep I'm touch!
<br />
<br />The colleague here in Miri, told me about what other courses (students from our college) think about my A-Levels gangs back I'm 2005 to 2006. They thought we were a bunch of clever kids (not really for me) who do not need to study yet having good results. They often see us walking around campus happily, always cheering in a big gang. We always know how to have fun! I thought we were just a bunch of crazy college students, who dont care about anything else except that we treasure friendship. Other school/class students do know about our existence. I'm surprised!
<br />
<br />I was flipping through my old school certificates folder, I realized that I was such an active super girl who joined lots of competitions and activities that I couldn't really recall. Now that I have turned older, energy level reduced, that I'm not as active as I used to.
<br />
<br />Hey, how old am I? I should get my energy pumped up and live a healthier happier life! And where I am? It is sometimes difficult to keep track of my whereabouts, unless when I start my full time job.</p><p class="mobile-photo"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjb1cOZG3OaBn1325Kl7hDIQePCxQITKFDSCXPDyWnIZWiJE55amGQHfo06J-QPQ7enB9ysYKbc6lHqquKx4yiTEJ27pI6RicEBBAR6GOOiJL7nDxxVqTNko1nJH8fuz-cg10aTV9Rtk0j1/s1600/photo-741409.JPG"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjb1cOZG3OaBn1325Kl7hDIQePCxQITKFDSCXPDyWnIZWiJE55amGQHfo06J-QPQ7enB9ysYKbc6lHqquKx4yiTEJ27pI6RicEBBAR6GOOiJL7nDxxVqTNko1nJH8fuz-cg10aTV9Rtk0j1/s320/photo-741409.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5639129458513306130" /></a></p>
<br />
<br />Yes, I was in Tanjung Aru Resort of Kota Kinabalu (KK), Sabah. I was there in KK doing internship for INTO Scotland for my university in Glasgow. It was a great and fun experience studying in glasgow. People had been so friendly In Glasgow and fun-loving! Friends I known from my university visited my another friend who lives in KK. So, my KK friend brought us out after my work at GES Global. We went to Tanjung Aru Resort for the orangey sunset. It was really warm (where I got a bit of tan) but it's worth it!
<br />
<br />It is a place recommend to go to, that you do not need to fly all the way to Santorini for the oh-so-expensive sunset!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15583623851803044337noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7464432338327965628.post-20942937414583566072011-07-24T04:54:00.002+01:002011-07-24T05:23:18.142+01:00Missing Scotland<div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQr2Qq3KisjyB7RpOVHTKFfP5idbewwNN1ZOluKkrRqNAhjcbXjWg"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 290px; height: 174px;" src="http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQr2Qq3KisjyB7RpOVHTKFfP5idbewwNN1ZOluKkrRqNAhjcbXjWg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /></div><br />Withdrawal syndrome is fairly common after returning for good, from a place that I dearly love. Even if I stay there for longer, this day has to come.<br /><br />I still remember just about two weeks ago in Glasgow, me and my parents were on a taxi to our car rental place, the taxi driver said to me,<span style="font-style: italic; color: rgb(51, 51, 255);"> "Oh, I love your accent. Where are you from? You have a wee bit of Glaswegian accent!"</span>. Haha! I said,<span style="color: rgb(0, 153, 0);"> "Really? Well, I've been here for four years so I might have pick up some!" </span>People said I've pick up some of the accent and I'm really happy of it! I hope not to loose it! I need to practice using 'aye', 'wee',... and other slang here. I'm pretty sure some people would give me a face. Haha!<br /><br />Although I'm not a Scottish but I'm proud to have been there for four years, meeting really nice people, making my life in Scotland so wonderful. I would definitely go back again one day for a visit and reunion with my friends in university.<br /><br />When I landed in Singapore on 15th July, I teared. It rained before I boarded to my another flight back to Kuching, and I hallucinated it as snowing. I did not do it on purpose but it just popped up in my brain that it snowed. Another incident was that I woke up from jetlag the next morning very tiredly, thinking it's so bright outside and it must be just 5am in the morning! (It won't happen in Malaysia to have sun already out at half past four in the morning, only UK!)<br /><br />I need to settle down and to adapt to the weather first. I do not want anymore headache because of the heat!<br /><br />x.o.x.oAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15583623851803044337noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7464432338327965628.post-53040449106371810262011-07-18T07:48:00.001+01:002011-07-18T08:13:31.458+01:00A new chapterI've returned to Malaysia, for good.<br /><br />It's a new page of life, with lots of adaptations to cope. (Well, apart from the months I need to rush for my final year project, and studied for exams)<br /><br />Not just busiest, also the most fruitful like an apple tree!<br /><br />What I've done so far for the month needed a list:<br />1) Johnson & Johnson day trip to London, visiting their Vision institute.<br />2) Catch up with friends<br />3) 7th June: Most nerve-wrecking day of the month. Got my result and I'm graduating.<br />4) Catch up with friends for drinks and dinner<br />5) Friends visiting Glasgow from Manchester and Aberdeen<br />6) <span style="font-weight: bold;">Enrique Iglesias concert</span> (the hottest concert I've ever been to. I needed to hunt for dress to wear underneath my graduation gown which is coming up next Wednesday. Didnt manage to get any dress so I'm just going to wear what I have in my wardrobe now.<br /><br />By the way, the summer sale is excellent! High street boutique like Mango has 50% discounts storewide. How amazing is that. Only if I have more money, I will definitely buy more.... I am saving up for upcoming trips.<br /><br />I feel so good about shopping in UK when the sales is simply tempting. In Malaysia, we do have mega sales two to three times a year but I must say the discounts are not as good as what we get here in UK.<br /><br />Another thing about loving to shop in Glasgow is that you will listen many street performers on the main shopping streets, especially Buchanan Street. Everytime after being abroad for a while, listening to bagpipes performer on shopping street, I feel so warm at heart. I will definitely missed all these good stuff after I return to Malaysia.<br /><br /><iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/PSH0eRKq1lE" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="349" width="560"></iframe><br /><br />The above is a video if you're interested in listening to bagpipes. It's good and this is one of my favourite, Scotland the Brave.<br /><br />I must say, I will take things slowly to wrap up my heartiest love to UK, especially Glasgow. I will be back again soon. Even after I'm back in Malaysia, I will still post about UK as I still have a lot of stuff to share.<br /><br />Till then, x.o.x.oAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15583623851803044337noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7464432338327965628.post-51776294499385772132011-06-22T08:31:00.003+01:002011-06-22T12:03:34.730+01:00I'm back from French Rivera<div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheWYPolekJV2cnJ_kqFByELU_jxIIlzgr9RMdvAWUhgH6FRvzJLmfUZa5zjqSKi2eqtVQHK8TbFedcgMfd-f5bpAHR36xG0leV25eDgDgfq78Zd_anPRg6r3g-tIaTZ4qhXeTZAepV5ulr/s1600/IMG_2764.JPG"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 303px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheWYPolekJV2cnJ_kqFByELU_jxIIlzgr9RMdvAWUhgH6FRvzJLmfUZa5zjqSKi2eqtVQHK8TbFedcgMfd-f5bpAHR36xG0leV25eDgDgfq78Zd_anPRg6r3g-tIaTZ4qhXeTZAepV5ulr/s400/IMG_2764.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5620953031950866946" border="0" /></a><br /></div><br />Arrived in Glasgow last night after a delayed flight. As I went through the border check passport control, I am so happy to be home, listening to the Scottish accent of people surrounding me. Scotland is a place I say "home".<br /><br />Paris is not the only place to visit in France. I highly recommend French Rivera, south of France. I went to Nice, Antibes, Saint Paul du Vence, Eze Village and Cannes of France. Of course, I stayed a night in the oh-so-posh-and-expensive Monte-Carlo of Monaco, the secong smallest country in the world after Vatican city. French Rivera truly explains France. The weather there is loveable by many, with lots of people sunbathe at the beach. When we were there, there was just one night that it rained a bit, otherwise, it was all sunny!<br /><br />I will continue my travelblog soon! Stay tuned! xoxoAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15583623851803044337noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7464432338327965628.post-31748783411838192282011-06-19T21:53:00.000+01:002011-06-19T21:54:16.090+01:00Bonjour<p class="mobile-photo"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEier5cZrbxdJqehTrsPrlCTG_zSC1JjKOuQQmLCg-sn_MtJS7ya4ngXWTJjU4uie2kj_YguMN2cp99wv9pIWZ4W9VOJFOi5t_MW8qHL1MBOKjsewxYWsppH-6Tm0eQ6atqJaQtUXPqz2_ar/s1600/photo-756091.JPG"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEier5cZrbxdJqehTrsPrlCTG_zSC1JjKOuQQmLCg-sn_MtJS7ya4ngXWTJjU4uie2kj_YguMN2cp99wv9pIWZ4W9VOJFOi5t_MW8qHL1MBOKjsewxYWsppH-6Tm0eQ6atqJaQtUXPqz2_ar/s320/photo-756091.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5620037105435243218" /></a></p>It's me updating from Cannes, France! <p>I love this place very much and now I totally understand why celebrities love to visit here. I was hoping to spot one celebrity but my luck was pretty bad. <p>It's a really small area that you can explore in just one day and you could spend the rest of it on the sandy beach, getting some nice tan or even playing beach volleyball!<p>Till then!! Will update again!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15583623851803044337noreply@blogger.com0
