Maths of Snow

Can you see it in the Picture?? It’s VERY FOGGY & MISTY!! Not that my camera is broken or lens is blurred, but it’s real! I took the first 2 pictures straight from my bedroom window.

The third Pictures proofs that Glasgow is now -3 degree celcius! AND, still not snowing! It snowed just, I said ‘just’ a wee bit of sprinkle this morning, as if you sprinkle chocolate powder on your hot chocolate! Just snow for only for a couple of minutes! That’s it!

The weather is FREAKING cold these few days and it was not as cold at this time last year.

To conclude, COLD MINUS DEGREE WEATHER ‘NOT ABSOLUTE EQUAL TO’ SNOW!!

Still wishing that when I wake up in the morning, seeing Glasgow covered with snow with snow shower for continuous hour!

Jingle jingle jingle...

Decided to go out for a walk even though i know the whether is less than 3'C. Got all my winter gear ready to wear and off I go!!

In fact, I just wanna go for some groceries shopping but since i am out there, I went to enjoy some of the Christmas mood. There's LOTS of homosapiens out there!

This is at George Square for Winterfest Glasgow. It's happening every year here with all the same deco but different activity. There's ice skating rink, some funfair, a stage for concert, huge Christmas tree, Christmas food, bar as well as gift shop. I like the atmosphere there.

Then, I walked to German Christmas Market at Argyle Street.

They sell a lot of stuff there, which includes jewellery, chocolates, sweets, haribo, winter accessories, etc. One of my favourite is Sweet Treats. I love the fruits + Chocolate, like Banana dipped in chocolate or grapes + chocolate topping. Looks yummy. I have not taste it on my own but will try one day and share with u on a not-so-busy day.

Buchanan Street is my next destination. At first glance, I saw the window display at Frasers for Hamleys. It's just lovely. Here is it:

Isn't it cute?

Princes Square. I can hardly afford anything there. It's luxurious shopping mall of Glasgow City. The Christmas mood is nice though.

Can u see it? People waiting outside to go in to some shop or maybe a cafe. Wow! They really have serious Christmas shopping. All the mood for Christmas is what I have in me right now!

Last but not least,

Street performer. Their music is nice. So, this ended my Christmas mood hunting!

Ciao~~

Zizzi... mmm... Yummy yum yum

Zizzi.

Went there with my dearest flatmate from last year after their Graduation Ceremony. Was really happy for them. I was thinking, it's still a long way for my turn.

Zizzi is an Italian Restaurant, situated in the very-expensive-and-classy shopping mall, Princes Square. It was my first time to dine there. Food was nice, just a wee bit pricey!

STARTER: Angelo's Mussels. Sauteed mussels with garlic, cream and fresh parsley. I think it taste alright. Not as delicious as the mussels i had in another Italian Restaurant -- The Italian Kitchen.

STARTER 2: Antipasto Zizzi. A selection of prosciutto crudo, salami Romania, coppa, smoked mountain ham, buffalo milk mozzarella, marinated sun dired tomatoes, mixed olives and red onion. Personally, I think it is good, real good, just heavenly for a starter.

MAIN COURSE 1: Sofia. Pizza with spicy chicken, pepperoni, oven roasted sausage, tomato, mozzarella, finished with green chilli and fresh rosemary. It's not the best pizza but it taste unique and i quite like it.

We also had another pizza called (MAIN COURSE 2:) Trentino, which is quite nice and refreshing with all the basil leaves as topping. I do not have the picture of it.

MAIN COURSE 3: Penne Della Casa. Pasta with smoked pancetta bacon, roasted chicken, creamy mushroom sauce and baby spinach finished with grated grana padiano cheese, baked al forno. This is a really really good pasta. Very recommended!

DESSERT: Torta Cioccolata. Rich chocolate torte on a thick hazelnut chocolate base, served with vanilla mascarpone. It is really rich but not as sweet as i think. It is nice though. I like it.

Overall, I give Zizzi 4 ot of 5. Credits to its environment as well.

After that, i took some picture of Prince Square with Christmas Tree!

Love that Christmas is coming!

The A380 Experience

Huge
Gigantic Bus
Full Double-decker
Extremely massive

SQ 317 - Singapore Airline
11.55am, 27th May 2008
Economy Class
Upper Deck, Seat No. 72H
London (Terminal 3) to Singapore (Terminal 3)
Approximately 12 hours journey
Landed on Singapore around 8-ish a.m. on 28th May 2008

After the first experience, I really love to travel from London-Singapore or vice versa using this Airbus. Singapore Airline will be flying to London and back to Singapore daily using A380 starting 18th March 2008 onwards. When I see this news, I was really excited. Yes, really excited. It's the biggest passenger plane at that time! WOW!!

Its really difficult to take the picture of the full plane because it is HUGE!! Then I know economy class can now sit on the upper deck for which upper deck is only for business class in Boeing 747. Definitely, I pick to sit at upper deck.

The interior is very new, bigger seats, bigger LCD tv in front of you, better in-flight entertainment, food provided comes in a menu, comes with Givenchy complimentary gift with a pair of socks and tooth brush.

It was the first time I travel alone in such a long distance flight. I must make myself as comfy as possible. I pick a seat by the aisle, walking to the toilet often for my legs to have better blood circulation. I even walk down to the lower deck to see how is it. I prefer upper deck as lower deck is congested.

This is the first time i feel so good in a plane, probably due to excitement. Well, whenever there's a new place or shop opening, lots of people would go and visit in which Chinese people like to say it as 'visiting new toilet'. In A380, it's the same thing that I do. I will go to the toilet if i want to pee or poop. *hehe* Here's the picture of the toilet:

In the loo, you can find after shave lotion, hand and body lotion, toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash, antibacterial hand wash, and other utilities as well. It is new and pretty. I like the mirror. The water tap is one-touch that the temperature of the water is controllable with a touch of finger:

Now, let the picture speaks:

Rumours says that the turbulence in A380 is bad but I dont feel any. Flying on an Economy Class is not enough for me. You should see how's the business class is. It's 17 inch LCD tv, and very very much comfy. Seats are massive!! Not to say the Suite that is available on A380 that technically u have a bed in a room to sleep in. (Can't believe it) The fare for Suite is about 10X more expensive than what I pay. IF THERE IS A CHANCE, flying once in a BUSINESS CLASS is worth it!

Things I wanted to do most: Travel

There's a few places that I wanted to go very much. I have a list of it. There you go:
  1. Paris, France (Done!)
  2. London, UK (Done!)
  3. Tokyo, Japan
  4. Los Angeles, USA
  5. New York, USA
  6. Las Vegas, USA
  7. Milan, Italy
  8. Rome, Italy
  9. Geneva, Switzerland
  10. Barcelona, Spain
  11. Berlin, Germany
  12. Sydney, Australia
  13. Oslo, Norway
  14. Vienna, Austria
  15. Venice, Italy
  16. Melbourne, Australia
  17. Taipei, Taiwan
  18. Hong Kong
  19. Florence, Italy
  20. Amsterdam, Netherland
  21. Seoul, Korea
And many many more!! Not to forget visiting each and every Disneyland that could be found on Earth!

Travel round the world needs lots of money. For short term, I think i better think of travel within a near distance. Since I am in Glasgow, Scotland, UK, I better travel within the country, although i know it's a wee bit boring.

As for Scotland, I went to quite a few of places in it. Scotland is famous for its scenery. When you walk down the busy street in Scotland, especially Glasgow and Edinburgh, you will hear people wearing kilts blowing bagpipes. This adds music to shopping spree if you like it. The famous music is 'Scotland the Brave' Click here if you want to know which one. I quite like it.

OK OK, back to the point. Travel. To summarise, I've been to a couple of places in Scotland:
1. Glasgow (Of course, I study here)

2. Edinburgh

3. St. Andrews (where Prince William was in university)

4. Glenshee (for ski)

5. Isle of Arran

6. Isle of Cumbrae (Millport)

7. Loch Lomond

8. Stirling

There's more places in Scotland is yet to explore. Next stop would be Aberdeen, then probably Dundee, Isle of Skye, Oban, Highlands and many more!

When I am free, I could not stop thinking about travelling. Anyone has any good plan, please let me know!!

Saturday 1 November 2008

Phew! A busy week 6 had gone!

Wednesday (29/10) - Graves' Disease Presentation
Thursday (30/10) - Retinoscopy Assessment
Friday (31/10) - Submission of Fundus Diagrams

Can't believe I manage to do it all! It's been a tiring week for me. I've not been to shopping in weeks and I finally get to go shopping after handling in my Fundus diagram. In case you wonder what is a fundus, this is it:

Imagine you have to look into the eye of one of your friends for more than 10 freaking hours, through the pupil of the eye and draw the picture of it like above! My draft is a wee bit like this...

... and i have to colour it! There's a lot of work to do!

Anyway, the 'gift' from the hard work is that i excel in doing ophthalmoscopy!! It is very important to see the back of the eye if anyone suffers from a chronic disease.

Each time when i go shopping , I would end up buying something before I go home. That is a RULE!! That could be buying a mini pan, Ben & Jerry's Core Sundae, or even a Winnie The Pooh Glass!! NYEHEHEHE!!

To celebrate the end of a busy week, me and my friends to celebrate Halloween!! We went out for dinner at Chinese Restaurant, 龙凤楼,booked a room and had karaoke. Here are some pic to enjoy:

I had a lot of fun, with different types of costume! Whee~~~
